Dear Freshman Families,

Welcome to the start of an exciting new chapter! I hope you all had a relaxing summer break. It has been wonderful seeing some of our students return to campus, and a special shout-out goes to those who were active on campus over the summer, either at our band camp or at summer athletic practices!

As our 9th graders transition into high school, here are key tips, policies, and upcoming dates to ensure a smooth start to the year:

Freshman Orientation

  • Date & Time: Thursday, August 27th, from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM.

  • This will be a great opportunity for students to explore the building, receive their schedule, get familiar with campus, and meet staff and peers before the official start of school!

Tips for a Successful Transition

  • Adjust Sleep Routines: Encourage your student to aim for 6–8 hours of sleep each night to stay sharp and energized.

  • Prep the Night Before: Help set them up for success by making sure iPads are fully charged, bags are packed, and snacks or lunches are ready to go.

  • Build an Afternoon Routine: Help your student block out a consistent window after school to recharge and focus on homework.

Schoolwide Cell Phone Policy: To maintain an engaged learning environment, all cell phones, smartwatches, smart glasses, and AirPods/headphones must be turned off and placed in personal bags upon entering the building and remain there until dismissal at 1:50 PM. Devices may not be used for calls, texts, photos, or internet/app access during school hours.

School Supplies: At the high school their isn't a supplies list for each class.  It is recommended that students bring pencils, pens, 3-5 folders (to place schoolwork and homework), and a 3-5 subject notebook.

Campus Updates & Tech Support

  • Parking Information: Campus parking is limited and prioritized for upperclassmen (Seniors first, followed by Juniors). Freshmen are not eligible for parking passes.

  • Tech Help: If your student experiences any issues with their iPad, SmartPass, or school email, please have them submit an [IT Ticket].

Frequently Asked Questions: To help answer common questions you or your student might have, we have enclosed a link to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

We are thrilled to support your student as they begin their high school journey! Please reach out if you have any questions as we kick off the year.

Warm regards,

Dan and Greg
